High-performance hot-swap hard disk drives designed by IBM for disk intensive applications such as database file server data-mining and business intelligence.??This disk drive enables you to optimize RAID performance by utilizing the maximum number of spindles the server or expansion unit is capable of supporting. Enterprise installations require servers with high-availability features and systems management capability to provide dependable ongoing service for business-critical applications. All drives are pre-assembled onto hot-swap trays so installation is quick and simple. Ongoing advancements in areal density technology allow twice the data to be stored on each platter than on previous 10 000rpm disk drives. This hard drive is supported in the hot-swap drive bays of the Netfinity EXP10 or Netfinity EXP15. -The Netfinity EXP storage units require a dedicated SCSI channel and are not supported in configurations that split the SCSI bus for internal and external devices.
