Overview:
The ProLiant DL585 is the best in class performance 4-way x86 rack server combining AMD Opteron processor technology best-in-class management and outstanding uptime features in a system ideal for large data center deployments. This 4U rack model is configured with two 1.6GHz AMD 842 Opteron processors (upgradeable to four) a 1MB L2 cache per processor integrated Smart Array 5i Plus controller with RAID 0 1 0+1 and 5 support and 2GB PC2100 DDR SDRAM (upgradeable to 64GB). Since there is no pre-installed hard drive you are free to configure storage to your needs. The DL585 features a 24X (max. speed) low-profile removable CD-ROM drive in one Universal Media Bay a 3.5 1.44MB removable floppy drive in a second Universal Media Bay four hot-plug hard drive bays (maximum internal storage capacity of 587.2GB) and seven available PCI slots. For your networking needs a Compaq NC7782 dual port PCI-X Gigabit Server Adapter is pre-installed in one PCI slot. The integrated graphics controller uses 8MB SDRAM to support resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 in 16 million colors. Continuous cooling is provided by eight hot-plug redundant fans.
